How did it all begin?

What is the difference between TRJFP Charitable Foundation CIO (the charity) and individual projects?

TRJFP Charitable Foundation ( 'TRJFP CIO') was founded on January 2015 with 2 main objectives:

  1. The promotion of waste food reduction and the use of surplus.
  2. Advancing the education of the public about all aspects of food waste generation, waste management and waste recycling.

This is done by the coordination of a global, autonomous network of individual social enterprises that are partnered up with TRJFP CIO.

Individual projects that are partnered with TRJFP have their own boards of directors, accounts and can be found through our main page.

Where do you get your food from?

We work hard to create national and local partnerships within the food industry to intercept all surplus food food that cannot be sold or redistributed. We can handle all food that has not exceeded its Use By date (this goes to anaerobic digestion). Individual projects have their own contacts and suppliers.

TRJFP CIO does have national arrangements with SUMA, Ocado and Morrisons. This allows local projects access to their respective stores.

Where do the (financial) PAYF donations go?

All financial donations to TRJFP CIO go towards our campaigns, building infrastructure to support our network, or used as capital and towards running costs of our partnered projects. You can donate to us here.
